Originally created as a man’s riding boot in the 15th Century, in the latter part of the 20th Century the style was redefined as a fashion boot for women.

Over-the-knee (or knee-high) boots after being featured on a number of 2013 fall runways made a big comeback and have become very popular since. Although the season for boots is nearly over you can still pull off that look with a lighter version of your wardrobe.

As always, the high street has quickly caught on to the shape of things to come and created an extensive selection of affordable versions. I bought mine a few months ago from Zara, which were very quickly sold out.

You can pair them with appropriately cut skirts and dresses, and match their colour to your tights or leggings as closely as possible. Are you worried that showing a little leg feels a bit much? Try styling the boots with a pair of skinnies instead. Your jeans should ideally have a tight fit, and a grey color adds just enough contrast while creating the illusion of never-ending legs. There really isn’t much of a limit here, although I would take the classy route with these boots as sometimes they can be a hit or miss. At the end of the day you’re only limited by your imagination so let them be a staple of your wardrobe collection:)
