I could just dedicate this whole post to one of my favourite shops which is TKMaxx Jas half of my outfit comes from there. I know……..I know for most of you probably it’s not the place where you can browse for fashion pieces, as many people think the endless rails are full of last season’s tat but you couldn’t be more wrong about that. For the shopper with time, patience and a discerning eye thousands of designer brands can be found crammed inside.
On the surface, a TK Maxx store looks a bit like a disorganised jumble sale, but for those in the know, it can be a style mecca. Barganistas can snap up this season’s styles at up to 60 percent off the normal retail price, if they know what they are looking for and of course when to look for it (mornings are the best).
The stock is diverse, ranging from old pieces from two to three seasons ago (which seems like a lifetime in the fashion world) to up-to-the minute excess stock from designer boutiques, from labels such as Chloe, Michael Kors, Ralph Lauren, Balenciaga (yes Balenciaga!) Stella McCartney or Emilio Pucci. High Street favourites like French Connection, All Saints, Replay and many others can also be picked for a fraction of original cost.
You have to be tenacious to be a TK Maxx shopper. There is a one golden rule also applying there: once you see something you like…BUY IT!, as nothing hangs around for too long and based on my own experience coming back the next day you will not find it anymore;)
