CELEBRATION OF STYLE – CRICKET FASHION SHOW

Cricket hosted a glitzy and glamorous fashion show as part of Liverpool’s first Celebration of Style event, which hopefully will cement Liverpool’s reputation as the fashion capital of the North.

For those of you that don’t know anything about Cricket – it’s about time you do your homework. It’s a chic designer boutique in the heart of Liverpool which stocks pieces from some of the biggest leading brands. Run by the owner – Justine Mills and her team it is a designer shopping mecca for every fashionista who’s visiting the city. It is also a popular WAG destination but don’t feel intimidated, as friendly staff will make you feel welcome and are always helpful.

As expected, Cricket’s Big Fashion Night Out unveiled some of the world’s top designer collections including Givenchy, Balenciaga,  Stella McCartney , Lanvin, Saint Laurent and Victoria Beckham. Models also presented some pieces from the Matthew Williamson collection, who himself hosted an exclusive dinner at Knowsley Hall the day before the event.

Alexa Chung’s brother Dom performed a DJ set  and a special guest – Singer Kelli-Leigh, who features on number one hits, ‘I Wanna Feel’ by Secondcity and Duke Dumont’s ‘I Got U’, closed the show with her amazing live performance. At that point no one was sitting anymore and the catwalk turned into a big dance floor.

Some of the scouse stars including Jenny Frost and Rebecca Ferguson were also at the Cunard Building to see the designer pieces. On the front row we could spot “Made In Chelsea’s” Rosie Fortescue (wearing a glitzy dress by Matthew Williamson-loved it!), “Ladies of London” star – Caroline Stanbury and Chloe Green, who was launching her shoe collection that weekend in Cricket.

As one of the celebrity stylists who was involved in the event, said: “Liverpool as a city is blessed with an abundance of style, class and people who are not afraid to be cutting edge in their fashion choice and display their individuality”.

Celebration of Style has been a great success and I hope it will attract a lot of media attention that will put Liverpool up there with London as a top fashion city in the UK.
